Granbury Competition
Team Tryouts

Who:

We offer 2 competition teams all ranging in ages and levels.

Junior Company is open to grades 4th and up.

Company is open to grades 7th and up.

When:

Our auditions for the 2023-2024 dance year will be held at our Granbury studio on July 26th and 27th. During your first rehearsal we will warm up, go across the floor, and learn a combination for tryouts. We will also talk about what it means to be on a company team. The second day we will bring in judges to watch the dancers audition and help us decide who will be on our team for the new dance year.

Jr Company 5:00 - 6:15pm

Company 6:15 - 7:30pm

What:

Our competition teams work hard throughout the dance year improving technique and perfecting their routines for competition in the Spring semester. Dancers on our company teams will generally have 2 dances per competition (a lyrical/contemporary and a jazz dance), our hip hop team generally competes with 1 dance at each competition as well.

Ballet is required in order to be a part of the Jr Company and Company teams. We do enjoy taking our students to 1 convention to get them to experience dance through a different upbeat environment and learn from industry leading choreographers. Along with dancing, we love to do other fun activities with our dancers! In the past we have taken them bowling, Christmas parties, and lake parties!

Meet Your Instructors:

Jackie Druzanovic: Jr Company & Company Jazz/Lyrical

Jackie Druzanovic has been teaching dance for over 20 years.  She began dancing at age 3 and teaching at age 15.  As a teenager Jackie won countless awards while competing in large group, small group, duo/trio, and solo dance categories.  Jackie has always been involved in the convention circuit, regularly attending Tremaine Dance, Adrenaline Dance, LA Dance Force, and American Dance Projekt.  Jackie is currently the instructor and choreographer for the Junior and Senior Competition Team in Granbury.  Jackie loves what she does...Her classes are always fun, her choreography is always exciting, and her enthusiasm for dance is always contagious!

Jessica Teague: Ballet & Contemporary

Jessica Teague Shafer began dancing at the young age of three and her love of dance only grew as she danced competitively for eight years and trained specifically in ballet at multiple studios across Fort Worth. Jessica is also classically trained in jazz, modern and contemporary. After high school she went on to further her education at Texas Tech University in 2010, where she graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Dance and Theatre Arts. While gaining an education of teaching, history, and technique, Jessica also became a student choreographer where she choreographed many dance pieces for her peers. For additional training, she was a member of University Dance Company where they held performances throughout the year and hosted benefit concerts. Jessica held an apprenticeship with Flatlands Dance Theatre of Lubbock where she learned and preformed with the professional company.
